A handsome interior illustration by the Austrian-born female artist and illustrator Tracy Porter Rudd, which appeared as a bookplate with the title “But still I love to think in some Dream-Aiden She wanders…”, for the poem “Pearls” in The Ring of Love and Other Poems by Brookes More, Boston: Cornhill Publishing, (1923). The artist settled in Massachusetts and was active during the first half of the last century becoming known for her almost gothic figures and moody sense of design. She Wanders features a ghostly romantic pre-Raphaelite maiden with nimbus & angelic wings, and is executed in charcoal on illustration board. An author signed first edition copy of the book where the illustration appears on page 157 is included in the sale.
