Enric Torres-Prat and Selecciones Ilustradas
In this original oil on board cover painting for an as-of-yet unidentified crime paperback, Enric Torres-Prat, better known simply as Enric, draws on the style of Robert McGinnis to create a montage featuring a redheaded femme fatale and an oversized purple gun. Please note, the gun is applied via a collage process.
Enric is best known for his iconic work depicting Vampirella, but this was just one of many commissions he had as an artist with Selecciones Ilustradas.
Selecciones Ilustradas is known in America specifically for the work their artists created for Warren Publishing titles such as Vampirella, Heavy Metal and Creepy. Along with these titles, SI employed artists from across the Spanish speaking world to create cover art for paperbacks across genres.
A verso label on this piece indicates that this was a published piece, but we have yet to determine its usage.
