A rare surviving original advertising illustration by noted American illustrator Jean Oldham. Created in the Americana vein of Leslie Thrasher and Norman Rockwell. This piece was created for print advertising by Philadelphia Made Hardware. Presented initially untitled, this piece was the focus of a caption naming contest, 1st prize being the painting. The winner, Minnehaha Hardware and Paint Co. Minneapolis, MN, named the piece “Football Interference.” A fresh and new to the market Saint Paul, Minnesota estate find. Work retains original verso press news clipping and inscription to caption contest winner.
