The Party Line by Irene Patten
With dazzling blue eyes, rosy apple cheeks, and a megawatt smile, this languorous, copper-topped glamour girl is reposed on a chaise lounge in front of a telephone waiting for her beau to call in “The Party Line”, a pastel illustration by female pin-up artist and illustrator Irene Patten.
Along with her sister Laurette, Irene Patten created numerous pin-up’s for the leading American calendar companies of the day. Their calendar girls consisted of a variety of tantalizing, modernistic heartbreakers. Irene’s original works are quite scarce today.
This large, exquisite pastel is signed by the artist and is housed behind glass in a sleek black wood frame with an elaborate decorative liner.
