An Edwardian Calendar Girl
This is a large format, published watercolor and gouache painting on illustration board by the prolific American illustrator Henry Hutt.
This painting appeared as the January 1907 page of “The Henry Hutt Calendar”.
In this portrait a cinched waist Edwardian beauty delights the eye with a cane and masquerade mask held in one hand while the other holds a bouquet of pink roses, presumably from one of her many suitors.
This is matted and not framed. A published calendar page is included in the sale. Condition is very good with some tanning to the board and some soiling in areas in the outer margins.
This illustration comes from the collection of esteemed illustration art collector Norman Platnick.
