A large, sultry original published pin-up calendar painting by the prolific and important American artist Fritz Willis. Willis was the last true star pin-up artist of the old guard, when illustrative pin-up reigned supreme in Men’s magazines and advertising calendars. The artist worked during the very tail end of the genre’s popularity. Showcasing a near-nude sex kitten, sipping chianti in heels, opera gloves and silk stockings with the artist’s trademark aura of bored sophistication. The Willis girl had no pretense of innocence, no oops moment or pursed lips, in many regards she was a creature of her time and stands as a time capsule when viewed today.

This oil on canvas pin-up painting was commissioned by the Brown & Bigelow calendar company for a premium 1971 promotional calendar for Harold’s Club Casino – Reno, Nevada. The calendar had four Fritz Willis images, our wine sipping swinger appeared as the front January – March calendar page. This artwork is in very fine condition and framed in a handsome, high-end, linen-edged, silver gallery frame.
