A lovely calendar used pin-up pastel for The Brown & Bigelow Calendar Company by K.O. Munson from the late 1940s to early 50s. A fresh faced red headed bathing beauty finds herself under close scrutiny below the suns colorful rays in this nautically themed classic pin-up pastel illustration. Work is in a very fine vibrant state of conservation framed in the original soft pine frame under glass with liner. A Brown & Bigelow published blotter of the image is included in the sale.
As pin-up art has caught on with collectors this artist has like many others enjoyed new high water marks at auction, in 2009 a pin-up pastel by K.O. Munson realized $16,730 at a well advertised national auction.
