For nearly three decades the inimitable Enoch Bolles was the sole cover artist for Film Fun magazine, creating larger than life and uniquely erotic pin up creations that bridged the gap between the traditional calendar girl and pulp magazine femme-fatales. In this example, which graced the cover of the June 1940 issue, a streamlined modernist bathing beauty with bright blue eyes under a sun hat offers the “Peek Of The Season.” One of the last covers Bolles did for this title during his twenty seven year run, this is a stellar example of the artist’s peculiar vision of feminine allure. We acquired this originally in 2013 and exhibited it at that years Comic Con convention where it sold just moments after the front doors opened the first day of the show, we are delighted to offer this spectacular and rare surviving Enoch Bolles work again!
