Self portrait of Artist Charles Sheldon

Although Charles Sheldon can arguably be called one of the pioneers of pin-up art, his roots came from art nouveau style illustrations. One the highest paid illustrators of his time, his cover illustrations were ingrained in the minds and eyes of the American people. His glamorous interpretations of Clara Bow, Jean Harlow, Greta Garbo and Marlene Dietrich were in high demand.

Featuring a fabulous flapper girl with idealized Jean Harlow like features in a stylish art deco turban, this is a colorful commissioned artwork recently unearthed from a Florida estate.
