Grapefruit Moon Gallery just acquired an important collection of the original vintage file copy photographs from the estate of Joseph Jasgur, the now legendary Hollywood photographer who was active during the 1940s-1960s. The photographer died in 2009 in Orlando Florida a couple of days before his 90th birthday and his estate contents were sold in 2011 at a Hollywood auction to pay off creditors.Grapefruit Moon Gallery will be selling hundreds of the photographer’s archived gelatin silver photographs featuring pin up models and bathing beauties and erotic nudes that date to the 1940s directly from the estate.
Along with these print items, we are proud to present what might be the greatest bookend collection we have ever come across. From the estate of an advanced collector, we have over 150 sets of vintage bookends. These superb examples of Art Deco artistry exemplify the figural flourishes and movement we associate with the 1930s and the Deco period.
