A large and fresh (in all respects) original pastel illustration by Rolf Armstrong, the father of American pin up. Created in 1940 for the Brown & Bigelow Calendar Company and titled "Let's Get Together" this features a streamlined modernist view of model Dorothy Conover in as close to a situational pin-up entanglement as Armstrong cared to venture. The artist defied the cheesecake trends, and an Armstrong girl would never be seen with a gust of wind catching her off guard or sitting on a freshly painted park bench. The artist was above such sight gags and the world of vintage pin-up is a better place on account of this.

This is a luminous, large scale, important and iconic pin-up that was seen on hundreds of advertising calendars and blotters and assorted pieces of ephemera in the early 1940s. Recognized as one of the artist's more inspired works, this has never before been on the market. For many years this was in the collection of Armstrong model and confidante Jewel Flowers.
