We are proud to offer the legendary pastel by Earl Moran of a young pin-up model soon to become Marilyn Monroe. This is an unusually large work by Moran. It is a defining example of the artist's mastery of light and shadow. In 1949, the young, winsome Norma Jean approached the established Earl Moran with dreams of modeling for his portraits.

With Moran's eye for beauty, there was no hesitation and a series of illustrations of Marilyn Monroe were born. This pastel was commissioned Calendar Art for Brown & Bigelow and was originally titled CONSENTIDA( an example appears on their webpage ) and marketed to a Latin audience initially.
Included with this pastel is a limited edition print by Illustrations Remembered, Inc. Also, the complete January 1987 issue of Playboy Magazine that features the original posed photos and "Spanish Girl " artwork. Additionally, a July 1983 full issue of LIFE Magazine with an article on the " lost Marilyn" photographs by Earl Moran including a posed view of the setting on page 8 as seen will accompany this iconic original pastel.
