Showgirl Spectacular, an original pin up calendar painting by Edward Runci, was published in 1953 by the Shaw-Barton Calendar Company. Modeled by the artist's wife Maxine, the image shows pretty showgirl dancer in a playful and sexy nod to the burlesque. A delightful and well-conceived artwork by an illustrator who has enjoyed some very fine auction results of late and whose work seldom comes to market. Framed in a handsome period gold wood frame with European verso exhibit label from a previous showing.
